Blue Texas

The Senate map in 2026 is incredibly challenging for Democrats, and we need to pick up seats in order to secure a majority. And in 2030, Texas will gain Electoral College votes while solid blue states like California, New York, and Illinois will lose them. Democrats must open a new pathway to 270 Electoral College votes and a Senate majority by 2032. Texas is the only state with enough Electoral College votes that’s trending in the right direction to provide that pathway. That means Texas Democrats must build a team of staff, volunteers, and candidates who can win statewide–and we have no time to waste.

There are 18 million registered voters in Texas. The data tells us that about half of them are Democrats. But only 5 million Texans voted for Democrats last year. That means there are millions of Texans who don’t feel like their vote matters, even with Donald Trump on the ballot. There are enough Democrats in Texas to flip our state, but not enough of them are turning out to vote.

The Solution

If we want to win statewide, we need to campaign statewide. We need volunteers talking to their neighbors from the Rio Grande Valley to the Panhandle, from Houston to El Paso. And we need candidates making the case directly to voters in every single county that Democrats will fight for all Texans.

When they decide to do it, we’re with them every step of the way – providing funding and other resources to make their campaigns as successful as possible. And we’re organizing volunteers in every single county to have real conversations with their fellow Texans at the door and over the phone.
